FinTech Disruption: What a CEO Needs to Know

The remarkable proliferation of FinTech companies has been fueled by unprecedented private equity  and venture capital investments. The FinTech investment machine has regained momentum and - if you “follow-the-money” in FinTech - you’ll find that these investments are focused on segments of the financial services market that seem to have in common three characteristics:
  • Large revenue and profit pools
  • Substantial end-users (i.e. consumers and businesses)
  • High degrees of “friction” in the delivery and distribution of financial products and services
FinTechs are changing how financial services are structured, delivered and consumed, leveraging (and, oftentimes, fulfilling) demand for faster and more convenient solutions.

In this CUNA CEO Council session, Mark Sievewright will provide an overview of the FinTech marketplace, FinTechs’ impact on the financial services industry, and will examine ways in which Credit Unions could leverage FinTech partnerships and the “frictionless member experience” many FinTechs offer.
