Protecting Yourself from Identity Theft and Scams Take control and don’t become a victim. From mail, e-mail, and phone scams to debit and credit card fraud, identity theft continues to be on the rise and affects millions of Americans each year. Shirley Bhutto, St. Mary’s Bank’s Director of Enterprise Risk Management & Compliance, uses her 18 years of experience to help you identify scams and understand the latest security breaches in order to protect yourself and your family. One of the easiest ways to protect yourself is to shred documents containing sensitive personal information. As part of St. Mary’s Bank’s Shredtember focus, attendees can bring personal documents—up to two copy paper boxes or two paper grocery bags (12" x 17") per person—to the class to be accepted for shredding.
